EUCC is an increasingly diverse community celebrating our still speaking God! We gather for worship each Sunday morning at 8:30am and 11:00am.

Our official name is Evangelical United Church of Christ - but we most often call ourselves "Evangelical" or "EUCC". Our name tells an important part of our story.

The “Evangelicals” were liberal protestant immigrants (German) in the late 19th century for whom the term ‘evangelical’ signified an attitude of tolerance, the antithesis of our current cultural definition. These social progressives formed many churches in St. Louis, including ours in Webster Groves. With our predecessors, we cherish educated inquiry, inclusive embrace, and the pursuit of peace.

With Conscientious Objectors and Veterans from our very beginning in 1920, we called our first woman as Senior Pastor in 1981. Our action to become an Open and Affirming congregation at the turn of the new Millennium was a continuation of our historic mission.

No matter your age, no matter the stage of life you find yourself, no matter your political affiliation, you are welcome within the community of Evangelical United Church of Christ.

The Welcome Statement adopted by EUCC in January 2001: The avowed purposes of this congregation are to worship God, preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and celebrate the sacraments, and to realize Christian fellowship and unity within this congregation and the church universal. Therefore, Evangelical United Church of Christ welcomes all who seek to experience the healing and unconditional grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, and invites each to participate and lead in our common life. Endeavoring to maintain the unity of the Holy Spirit in the bond of peace, we are open to and affirming of each child of God, recognizing that we are called to be as one reconciled Body with members of every race, gender identity, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, class, age and physical or mental health and ability. Relying on Christ's announcement of the approaching realm of God, we seek to increase among all, love of God and neighbor.
